Let go of the guilt!
Time spent working on a Kong, bone or other feed toy in the crate provides your dog with a multitude of positive things. Not only will it strengthen the positive association she has with her crate, but s/he also finds it mentally stimulating and satisfying. But best of all, you get a break from puppy patrol! It’s a win, win!
Remember, if your pup is not happy in the crate is will become a punishment. Start with shorter lengths of time and slowly increase.
Have fun and enjoy a bit of dog down-time, too bad you don’t always get that from the kids!
